Blyth Family Funerals

About Blyth Family Funerals

Blyth Family Funerals, also known as Stephen Brown Funeral Services, is an independent, family-run firm based at Browns Building on Maddison Street in the centre of Blyth. Run by the Brown family across two generations, it prides itself on a personal, unhurried standard of care for local families, and its funeral directors are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to bring a loved one into their care whenever the need arises. The firm is a member of the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF), the trade body for independent funeral directors.

The firm arranges traditional and bespoke funerals as well as simple direct cremations, and can talk families through the choice between burial and cremation, the style of service, and the costs involved at their own pace. Practical touches include a modern Mercedes fleet, horse-and-carriage options, a private chapel of rest, funeral planning and pre-paid plans, and memorial jewellery. As a small local business, it offers a familiar face and a single point of contact throughout what is a difficult time.
