About 10th Blyth Scout Group

The 10th Blyth Scout Group meets at Blyth Central Methodist Church on Beaconsfield Street, close to the town centre, and is part of the Blyth Valley Scout District within Northumberland Scouts. It runs a Beaver Scout colony for ages 6 to 8, a Cub Scout pack for ages 8 to 10 and a half, and a Scout troop for ages 10 and a half to 14, offering a mix of games, crafts, badge work, camps and outdoor adventure through the school year. The group is committed to inclusive Scouting that welcomes every young person regardless of background, and popular sections can carry a waiting list, so it is worth registering an interest early.

Weekly meetings run for an hour or so during term time, with a wider programme of days out, camps and activities such as kayaking, abseiling and archery across the year. Like every group it depends on the goodwill of volunteers, and it is usually the number of adult leaders and helpers, rather than space, that decides how many children a section can take. Places and section nights are arranged through the Scouts group finder or the Blyth Valley Scout District, and new adult volunteers are always welcome with full training and support provided.
