About Frameworks Art Cafe

Frameworks is an independent art shop and cafe on Bridge Street in Blyth, established in 1996 and trading as "art, home, gifts, bespoke framing and the Art Cafe, all under one roof." The multi-level premises are known locally for their elegant, welcoming interior and for the seasonal window displays that have become something of a Blyth landmark through the year. Framed artwork lines the walls, giving the cafe the feel of a continental gallery-cafe, and the shop side extends into further showrooms of furniture, mirrors, gifts and home accessories under the name The Picture House.

A core part of the business is its bespoke picture-framing service, with a large selection of moulding samples and conservation-grade materials for framing artwork, photographs and memorabilia. The Art Cafe serves homemade hot and cold food, afternoon tea and a range of drinks, with cakes made in-house, and live piano music adds to the atmosphere on certain days. The combination of gallery, gift shop, framing workshop and cafe makes it a distinctive all-in-one destination on Bridge Street.
