About Blyth Cricket & Rugby Club

Blyth Cricket & Rugby Club on Plessey Road is the shared home of two of the town's oldest sporting sides, Blyth Cricket Club and Blyth RFC, which run senior and junior sections between them alongside tennis. The site takes in the cricket square with its practice nets and score box, the rugby pitches and a clubhouse with changing facilities and a bar, and it operates year-round as a sports and social venue rather than just a summer or winter ground. The rugby club has a five-year development plan and a full roster of local shirt and kit sponsors, and the cricket club fields adult Saturday teams and a junior section.

The clubhouse function room is the club's other role in the town, advertised for functions of up to around 200 guests and used for everything from business meetings and birthday parties to wedding receptions and works Christmas nights, with the enclosed outside field available in summer for fun days and inflatables. Parking is the one practical catch: there are only a handful of spaces at the front of the building, so guests generally park on the surrounding streets or share taxis. Hire, catering and bar arrangements are all handled directly by the club on 01670 352063 or through its Facebook page.
