The Ciccarelli name traces back to 1966, when the business began with a single ice cream van rooted in Italian gelato-making traditions, and it has since grown into an established North East brand supplying vans, parlours and wholesale customers across the region. The South Beach site is a popular stop for both locals and visitors making the most of the Blyth coastline.

All gelato is made using organic milk and cream sourced from Northumberland, with more than thirty flavours available and new recipes rotating through the counter. The business has picked up national recognition, including being voted the UK's Best Fresh Mix in 2024, and pairs its gelato with the neighbouring chip shop to make the beachfront a natural destination on a warm day. Traditional favourites sit alongside more inventive combinations, all produced to the same artisan standard.
