About Blyth Spartans Community

Blyth Spartans Community is the community arm of Blyth Spartans AFC, the town's long-established non-league football club, based at Croft Park on Plessey Road. Describing itself as "your community club," it extends the Spartans' presence beyond match days through grassroots football and outreach across South East Northumberland. Alongside the club's own community work sits Blyth Spartans Juniors, a dedicated junior organisation, giving young players in Blyth a pathway into the game linked to the senior club and its Croft Park home.

The programme runs junior football, soccer schools and holiday sports camps for primary-age children at Croft Park, with Easter and summer camps delivered in conjunction with coaching partners. Past camps have been led by former Spartans captain Wayne Buchanan, a defender who made 178 appearances for the club, and cover football and general sports for children of roughly primary-school age. The wider community offer also includes walking football and a food bank initiative, reflecting the club's broader role in the town.
