Micro-Grants of up to £1,000 Open for Blyth Community Groups

The first round of Blyth's Pride in Place Community Investment Fund is offering micro-grants of £250 to £1,000, with free drop-in help sessions and an application deadline of 10am on Monday 17 August.

If you help run a community group in Blyth, there is money on the table this summer. The first round of the Pride in Place Community Investment Fund is now open, offering micro-grants of between £250 and £1,000 to local organisations with an idea for improving the town.

This is the opening funding round of the wider £20m Pride in Place programme for Blyth, and it has been designed as a pilot aimed squarely at smaller groups and first-time applicants — so you do not need to be an established charity with a grants officer to have a fair shot.

What the money is for

The fund is looking to back projects that make a practical difference locally. Eligible themes include youth activities, reducing antisocial behaviour, creating or improving community spaces, promoting arts and culture, supporting health and wellbeing, and strengthening local organisations.

You do not have to work it out alone. Free drop-in sessions and workshops are running through early August to help you shape an idea and complete the form:

Blyth Library — drop-in, Monday 3 August, 4pm to 6.30pm. No booking needed.
CVA Blyth Valley Hub, Market Place — drop-in, Wednesday 5 August, 10am to 12.30pm. No booking needed.
Energy Central Learning Hub, Quay Road — workshop, Tuesday 11 August, 2pm to 4pm. Booking essential.
Energy Central Learning Hub, Quay Road — workshop, Wednesday 12 August, 10am to 12pm. Booking essential.

The drop-ins are turn-up-and-ask; the two workshops need to be booked in advance via Eventbrite. Both cover how the wider programme works and how the Community Investment Fund fits in.
