Step back to the age of the great Northumbrian kings with a 7th-century living-history experience at Bamburgh Castle, once the royal seat of the kingdom of Bernicia. Meet costumed re-enactors, see crafts and daily life recreated, and take in the castle's sweeping coastal setting. Included with admission; runs across the August bank-holiday weekend, 29 to 31 August.
