What's On This Weekend in Blyth & the North East (27-29 June)

A good spread of things to do in Blyth this weekend, from live football to farmyard fun and a record fair. Further afield, the Northumberland Plate takes over Newcastle Racecourse and Joe McElderry brings a new show to the Theatre Royal. Here is what is happening from Friday to Sunday.

Blyth Spartans Pre-Season Friendlies

Friday 27 June at Croft Park. The Spartans kick off their pre-season programme with an afternoon friendly at Croft Park, 3pm kick-off. A chance to see the squad take shape ahead of the new campaign and support the town's team.

The McDougalls: Farmyard Fun -- Phoenix Theatre

Saturday 28 June at the Phoenix Theatre, Blyth. A family show from the popular children's entertainers at 2pm. Singing, silliness, and farmyard antics -- a brilliant afternoon out for young children and their parents.

Blyth Market Record Fair

Sunday 29 June at Blyth Market. Vinyl hunters and music lovers, this one is for you. Browse crates of records from 9am to 3pm at the market. A great way to spend a Sunday morning in town.

Northumberland Plate Festival

Saturday 28 June at Newcastle Racecourse. The biggest day in the North East racing calendar. A full card of flat racing at Gosforth Park with hospitality, live entertainment, and a brilliant atmosphere. About 30 minutes from Blyth by car.

Something in the Water -- Joe McElderry

Saturday 28 June at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle. Joe McElderry's new stage show comes to Newcastle's grandest theatre with performances at 2:30pm and 7:30pm. A polished night out in the city centre.

Buzz Dance: At The Movies

Friday 27 June at Northern Stage, Newcastle. An evening of dance inspired by classic film scores, performed from 7:30pm at Northern Stage. A Friday night option for those heading into Newcastle.
