Welcome to Blyth.live

Introducing Blyth.live — your new community hub for Blyth, Northumberland.

Blyth.live·

Blyth is a town that doesn't shout about itself, but probably should. A proper working port with a long sandy beach, a market that's been trading for generations, a volunteer-run military museum, and a cultural scene that keeps quietly growing. It deserves a dedicated online guide -- and that's what this site is for.

What you'll find here

Blyth.live is a free community guide covering the town and its surrounding areas. We're starting with the basics and building from there:

  • Events -- what's on this week, this weekend, and in the months ahead. From market days and theatre shows to community fundraisers and family activities.
  • Directory -- a growing guide to local businesses, venues, clubs, and services worth knowing about.
  • Guides and news -- practical guides to life in Blyth, plus local stories that matter to residents.

The goal is simple: one clean, fast, well-maintained site where you can find out what's happening in Blyth without wading through social media or outdated council pages.

A town worth writing about

Blyth has more going on than people give it credit for. The beach and its colourful beach huts are a genuine draw in summer. Blyth Battery is one of the best-preserved coastal defence sites in the country. Ridley Park has won Green Flag awards and is packed with families year-round. The market -- running on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays -- anchors the town centre. And the Quayside, with its wind turbine, marina, and the Spirit of the Staithes sculpture, has been transformed over the past decade.

Add in the new Newsham railway station connecting Blyth to Newcastle in under 20 minutes, and the town feels like it's entering a new chapter.

How to get involved

This site is community-driven. If there's an event we should list, a business that deserves a directory entry, a story worth covering, or a mistake to correct -- get in touch. Suggestions are always welcome and acted on quickly.
