Best Beer Gardens in Blyth

Commissioners Quay Inn, The South Beach, and The Waterloo — beer gardens in Blyth.

Blyth.live·

Blyth might not be the first place that springs to mind for a beer garden crawl, but the harbour setting, coastal light, and a handful of properly good outdoor drinking spots make it well worth a visit when the sun comes out.

The Commissioners Quay Inn -- Harbour Views

The Commissioners Quay Inn takes the top spot for location alone. Sitting right on Blyth's historic quay, the terrace offers unbeatable views across the harbour and out to sea. Local ales, wines, and spirits are served inside and out, and the food menu runs all day. On a calm summer evening, there are few better spots on the Northumberland coast.

Best for: Best for: harbour views, all-day food, coastal atmosphere.

The South Beach -- Garden by the Sea

The South Beach lives up to its name with a pub garden where you can enjoy food and drinks in a relaxed setting close to the beach. The garden has comfortable outdoor seating and is spacious enough for families. Sharers, mains, and sides are all served outside during the warmer months.

Best for: Best for: families, beach proximity, relaxed garden setting.

The Waterloo -- Conservatory and Garden

The Waterloo has a conservatory that opens onto a beer garden at the rear. In summer, the garden comes into its own -- a decent-sized outdoor space for a town-centre pub. The conservatory provides a halfway house when the weather is not quite warm enough for full commitment to the outdoors.

Best for: Best for: a bet-hedging option, conservatory backup, town-centre convenience.

Bebside Inn -- Big Garden with Views

The Bebside Inn on the western edge of Blyth has a large beer garden with scenic views over the surrounding area. The outdoor drinking area is generous by local standards and the pub itself is a friendly community local. Worth the short trip from the town centre.

Best for: Best for: spacious garden, scenic views, community pub feel.

The Keel Row -- Nearby in Seaton Delaval

Technically just outside Blyth, the Keel Row in Seaton Delaval is an award-winning pub with a beer garden that draws people from across the region. The food is a cut above standard pub fare, the garden is well maintained, and there is a children's play area. If you are willing to travel ten minutes, this is a strong contender.

Best for: Best for: destination pub, quality food, play area for children.

The Dun Cow -- Traditional Local

The Dun Cow on Bridge Street has a small but pleasant outdoor drinking area. It is a traditional Blyth local with darts, pool, and live sport. The garden is not the biggest, but it catches the afternoon sun and the prices are gentle on the wallet.

Best for: Best for: traditional pub, affordable drinks, afternoon sun.
