£25,000 Blyth Celebrates Fund Backs Local Creative Projects
Northumberland County Council's Blyth Celebrates Fund is putting £25,000 into local creative and community projects running at the new Market Pavilion through to March 2027.
A fresh round of the Blyth Celebrates Fund is putting £25,000 behind local artists, creatives and community groups, supporting a programme of workshops, performances and community-led projects running from this summer through to spring next year.
Best for: The 2026/27 fund offers nine grants -- four of £5,000 and five of £1,000 -- with funded projects running from June 2026 to March 2027 at the Market Pavilion.
What the Fund Supports
Delivered by Northumberland County Council, the fund is designed to champion creativity that connects people and celebrates the town's cultural identity. The £25,000 pot is split into nine grants: four awards of £5,000 and five of £1,000. Successful projects take place between June 2026 and March 2027 at the new Market Pavilion in Blyth town centre.
It builds on the 2025/26 round of the fund, which backed a series of creative projects delivered between August 2025 and March 2026. Applications for this latest round closed at the end of April, with the chosen projects now beginning to roll out across the year.
Wendy Pattison, the council's Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure & Tourism, said the fund was "a fantastic opportunity for artists and groups to share their ideas, connect with local audiences and play a part in shaping Blyth's cultural future."
A Home on the Market Place
The funded work is centred on the Market Pavilion, a new venue on the Market Place built on the historic site of Blyth's former central cinema and music hall. Returning the space to its old role as a focal point for arts and entertainment, the Pavilion gives funded projects a permanent creative home -- and sits alongside the town's established venues such as the Phoenix Theatre.
It's part of a busy stretch for culture in the town, coming as Blythfest 2026 brings a fortnight of art and performance to venues across Blyth.

Full details of the fund are published on the Great Northumberland website, and the reopening was announced by Northumberland County Council.
Best for: Keep an eye on the Market Pavilion's listings to catch the funded projects as they launch across 2026 and into 2027.
